Ending 2019 with a bang, rolling right into 2020 with a NYE retreat in the tropics of Sri Lanka. This place, the people, the animals, the food… it really is a little slice of Heaven.

I collaborated with Irene the founder of Down to Earth, a yoga and meditation transformative retreat host. The days consisted of Acro yoga, chanting exercises, trust circles and day trips to waterfalls and ancient temples. I cooked and created space for 20 men and women, opening up about my journey, my ways of life and expressing my hearts-desires through my food. It was a perfect seven days of complete bliss filled with all the plant goodness!

I created harvest tables filled with fresh salads, vegetables bakes, pasta dishes and really got experimental with fermented foods. I made a delicious fermented beet kvaas soup with the liquid from the beetroots as well as a hummus using the fermented pieces of beetroots! Breakfasts were always plated.. the savoury dishes were made up of a carb (either freshly made coconut roti, sourdough bread or rice flour pancakes) loaded with toppings like fresh herb salsas, pickled radish and of course, served with multiple dips! The sweet breakfasts were filled with tropical fruit salads, smoothie bowls, vegan french toast and incredible gluten-free pancakes. The colours within every meal were truly an inspiration for a bright and beautiful 2020.

What better way to enter a new decade than by eating all the colours of the rainbow! To be able to nourish others really is my passion, but meeting and connecting individuals on their crazy beautiful journeys is something truly special.
